Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6

Psalm16:11 A Verse To Live By

Here is a verse I want you all to think about today. Psalms 16:11 says “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” God shows us the path of life through His Word, the Bible, and through the Holy Spirit. For you to see something that someone is trying to show you ironically enough you actually have to look at it. How often do you look at God’s Word? How often do you try and see the path that He is trying to show you? The Psalmist says it best when he says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”, you see the Bible is that lamp with which God is trying to show you the path of life. It is up to you to look at it daily.
When you are walking with God you will be in His presence and in His presence you will find the fullness of joy. The thing you must understand is that joy and happiness is not the same thing. God did not say that we would be happy all the time; in fact He said we would face many trials and tribulations because of standing for His name. But when you are walking with him and are in His presence you can have joy, you see joy is in the essence of your soul and your soul is eternal and cannot be destroyed therefore your joy can never be taken from you. It is you and you alone that can give up the joy that God has given you. Joy is the peace that comes from the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the fact that no matter what is going on in your life and no matter what storms rage all around you, that you are secure in the arms of Jesus and you will spend eternity with Him.
When you look at and follow the path God has set for you and experience the fullness of joy as only He can give, then you will find that there are indeed pleasures evermore. The pleasures of God are infinite and eternal. God gives you the pleasure of His peace and of knowledge of Him; He gives you the pleasure of His creation, of a beautiful sunrise and of the laughter of a child, the kiss of a mother, and the loving hug of a father. Then like a runner getting his price at the end of his race, you will get the pleasure of Jesus meeting you with open arms, waiting for you at the end of your life, the pleasure of Heaven and eternity with your savior.
So this week reflect on Psalm 16:11, look at the path God is showing you, live to the fullest in His presence and keep your joy, so that from now till you finish your race you will experience the pleasures of the Lord, today and forevermore.
