Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Thanks + Giving

Hey ya’ll it’s Lizzie with “Women In The Word.” Today my topic is “Thanks + Giving.” The scripture we are looking at is 1 Thessalonians 5:18. “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.” I am aware of the fact that life is better than I deserve, so much better. No matter what, no matter how bad life gets, there is always something to be thankful for.  I mean our heavenly Father did wake us up this morning right?

Have you ever thought about the difference in the definition of thankful and the definition of gratitude. Thankful is a way of expressing appreciation with or without an act. And gratitude is more like having a sense of thankfulness, and the feeling is from within. Both of these words can be used to express how we feel about benefits we receive in life. The benefits come from our Savior Jesus Christ. Before Jesus came into my life I didn’t understand gratitude; it’s not my character. Maybe because I was still so very young, and maybe, just maybe I wasn’t following Jesus. Step out of your comfort zone and count your blessings. What are you thankful for? Write them down. It may not come naturally but don’t stop. Start writing and start praising Him; I mean raise the roof kind of praise. Count your blessings. Take some time today to pay it forward. Take someone to lunch or dinner and share the gospel. Let your light shine so bright for Jesus that others see Jesus in you year round, not just in the holiday season.

If I could leave you with one question to ponder over this holiday season it would be this, Are you thankful for Gods mercy, grace, and faithfulness year around, or are you only thankful on the twenty two days of November that you publicly thank Him on Facebook for? Sending lots of love, hugs, and countless blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving. Remember He is the reason we are able to celebrate with our family and friends. God bless each of you and don’t eat too much turkey. Tune in next week at the same time for the topic “She’s All Mine.
