Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

The Flip Side to Being a Christian

I wasn’t born the girl who writes a blog full of testimonies and advice on how to live your best life and that’s not who I am now.
I’m not always bold when it comes to speaking the truth. I still care what others think about me sometimes whether I choose to admit it or not.
When temptations knock on my door, every once in a while, I’ll give in without hesitation. I’ll preach about something on my blog then go do it the next day. Call me a hypocrite if you’d like.
Don’t fool yourself for one second and think that just because I walk around with a smile on my face, that I have it all together. I don’t have a clue what’s going to happen tomorrow or how I’m going to handle it yet.
So what’s my secret? Have confidence in The Lord, then yours will come. Know you’re a sinner but know you’re different, you’re saved by grace.
It’s a proven fact that life gets messy. Sometimes it’s a hot mess and other times, you just want to sweep it under the rug. Don’t do that. Bob Goff once said, “It seems that God takes more delight in the broken because He has more pieces to work with.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
One thing I’ve come to realize is that the closer I get to God, the harder the devil comes after me. It’s kind of like being a college athlete; you get to be on tv and be apart of your dream team, but you also have to put in all of those long hours at the gym and can’t hit up Dairy Queen every other day. There’s something to be excited about and to complain about.
At the end of the day, you’re not just a 1st round draft football player. You’re not just a teenager who’s figuring things out. You are so much more than that. Be the person who goes out on the weekend and makes some mistakes, but then gets up Monday morning taking responsibility, and get back to the grind. You can’t hold back every time you hear God telling you to say the prayer at dinner when someone gives you the chance, you’ve gotta go for it eventually. You’ve got to accept that you fell down and be okay knowing everybody watched. You’ve got to see the bigger picture and get up! Go create some good memories, let God take over.
You can let people tell you who you are all day long. Only one voice matters though. I’m sure you can guess which one. Stop letting a single moment determine who you are. God isn’t just one minute of your life. He is eternity. *Drops the mic*
