No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Wilmington’s Comeback

It’s hard for me to find the right words to describe how a recent trip to Wilmington, NC went. That’s just how overwhelming God’s love can be when you get close to it. Every time I do, it leaves me wondering why I venture off in the first place. Last month, my youth group and I attended a show in Wilmington of The Live Original Tour with Sadie & John Luke Robertson, and some super good bands! I’d expected us to have a grand time, but once again, God blew my expectations right out the door.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you know in September Wilmington got hit pretty bad by Hurricane Florence. The tragedy was unbelievable and so devastating for the poor families affected. But on our trip—at Port City Community Church, in Wilmington, NC—they didn’t show any sign of sadness, they were getting down to business and praising the One Almighty and I’m so blessed to say I was there to be apart of it.

I wasn’t just singing along to words on a screen, no I was lost in the moment, worries aside, with my faith held high. *Ooou bars* You guys—it feels so amazing to be free. Like free as in your mind isn’t wandering and you are truly happy from ya nose to ya toes. Only God can bring that kind of warm feeling I’m telling you!

My path has been a little bumpy lately. Whether it’s been little insecurities bugging me or just being in the high school environment, but it’s been a struggle. Then I came to Wilmington and quit looking at myself long enough to back up and see the bigger picture. I spent some quality time with God, and that therapy beats Starbucks and a hot bath all day long. One minute I was laughing my guts out and the next I burst into tears of joy and started praying for me, the people in front of me, my mom, my dad, brothers, and Lord knows who else! And it’s sad because this shouldn’t be occasional, our God deserves this kind of attention everyday. He shows it to us with every breath He puts in our bodies and I’ll admit it, I take most of them for granted.

I’m asking myself this very question and I want you to do the same, what’s so important that we give our time to things/people other than God? Now I’m not saying to cut off everybody you know and just go cray cray for my boy Jesus 24/7 but..I think we can all do better on including Him more in the loop. More in our thoughts. Plans. Conversations. Can’t you imagine how much better life would be?? Now stop imagining, let’s make it happen. *mic drop*
