No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Why You Shouldn’t Hit The Snooze Button

Raise ya hand if it’s a struggle getting up out of bed some mornings… *Me raising both of my hands*
Hate to admit it, but back in middle school about once a month, I’d lay in bed debating whether I should tell my mom I had a stomach bug or a super bad headache. All because it was 6 in the morning and I’d just rather be sleeping in my warm bed instead of getting ready for school.

Thankfully for my mom and I, I grew out of that phase. It wasn’t easy though. What’s the point you ask? Where did I get the courage from? I realized that the decisions you and I make every morning are important and can change our whole lives. All it takes is a new mindset. Some of you are probably thinking I’m being overdramatic right now, and if so, you’re one of the reasons I’m even writing this whole thing.

Now, I get it, for about the first 20 minutes I’m up, I can’t stand chatty people either, but that doesn’t mean I have the right to be hateful or continue to be negative throughout the day. Put yourself in the chatty person’s shoes for a minute. They love you, want to spend time with you, and don’t know if this is going to be the last time they see you or not. Throw on a smile and make them feel good, you affect their day as well ya know.
On another note, when you go to God for something, you want a response or to see a change immediately right? Yet, you expect for Him to wait on YOU until you decide you’re ready to go serve Him? No we’re not going 50/50 here, you’re either all in or on your own and I ain’t talking about for Clemson football either.

God puts you in places to spread His name, show others His glory. Not so you can mope around and complain about the weather.

You see, when you start off with that nasty attitude in the morning, it just keeps building up from there like Legos. This is just as hard for me as it is for you some days, but I do not care what happened to you last night or if there’s no milk in the fridge for your lucky charms, I bet something great is going to happen today or God’s gonna treat you to a delicious lunch! Whatever the blessing is, if you don’t notice it every day, you need to check your heart. I’m not gonna sugar coat it, there is a whole lot of evil in this world, but man let me tell y’all, I’ve lost count of how many days I’ve had where I thought everything was going south and nothing could make my day better. Then I saw a picture of a puppy on my Facebook timeline or a friend commented on my picture, telling me I look beautiful. Other days it was finding the last cosmic brownie in the cabinet. Hahaha can’t believe I put that in here. All that made the difference was that God reminded me He was there. Even if I choose to act like everything is falling apart, He’s constantly there to show me His love.

I want you to wake up genuinely happy for once. Not because you woke up to a text from your boyfriend or girlfriend. Not because you smell those waffles mama’s in the kitchen making. But because you know you have a mission to do today and that God isn’t gonna let anything get in your way. Give that loud mouth a hug and show them some love. Kindness matters and so do you.
