I grew up in a picture perfect home with two parents that love each other unconditionally. They have supported me through every endeavor I have chosen to take on in life and always showed me LOVE along the way. They never argued in front of me and my sister and taught us RESPECT. (but my mom was a rockstar at the silent treatment)
Lets be honest we were both spoiled and maybe even a little rotten. We didn’t go with out and honestly got whatever we wanted. But most importantly, we were taught Gratitude and Respect. I am not saying this to brag – I am saying this to lead to this. My mom instilled Matthew 7:12 into us at a very young age. Matthew 7:12 says “whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets.”
She always told us God can give, but He can take it away faster. Most importantly everything is His, and to always give from the heart.
I am aware not everyone is blessed to have grown up in a home like my sister and I, and honestly just have it really tough. It doesn’t matter what kind of home life you have – what type of person you choose to be – what you wear – or what you drive; our God LOVES us all the same!
At the end of the day my biggest piece of advise is to LOVE HARD. Love people how you would want to be loved. You never know what demons they are facing. That little smile you give may change their heart from making a really bad decision.
I challenge each of you ladies to LOVE others a little harder this year and see how God blesses your life!
