Hey guys, so here it goes – let’s just state the TRUTH… I’m a gym junkie and have a flat out conniption fit if I don’t get to go one day. I’m all about being in shape and being the best ME that I can be. The question is though, why should I work out if I’m not going to eat right? I love to eat healthy and do what’s best for my body, and to be quite honest it defeats the whole purpose of going to the gym if I am going to eat like crud.
Well, the exact same scenario can be applied with reading your bible and going to church regularly. You can do both of those things, but if you do not apply His word and teachings into your daily life it becomes hard to live a life that stays on the right path. Being a Christian takes work; its not an easy task – trust me I know. The world we live in is filled with such negative people who actually want to see us fail.
It states in Matthew 5:16 – In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
It is very hard to stand up against negative people if you are not spiritually in shape. There is no way possible in this lifetime to be an uplifting, positive, loving, encouraging person without allowing God to live within you. If you do not have God living in you then the devil will come right through that open door and put you on the same path as those negative, unhappy people. Now don’t get me wrong, as Christians we face the devil everyday.. He tempts me EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE.
There are TONS of good people in this world, but there is just something about a Christian – the light that beams off is sooo apparent. It’s almost impossible to miss. Why? Because what goes in must come out. If you surround yourself with negative, complaining, whining people that always have problems – then you too will become the same way. If you surround yourself with Jesus-loving people who study His word and want to share His light with others and are SPIRITUALLY FIT, then God’s light will shine through you!! You are what you associate yourself with. Can I get an AMEN!
