If being a Christian isn’t exciting to you, you’ve done something wrong. Most people assume there’s a list of things you can’t do or that there’s just simply no fun in following all of God’s “rules”. I beg to differ.
“Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.” -Psalms 19:9-11
Before I was saved and handed my life over to Christ, I could’ve gave you a whole list of things I’d rather do than go to church, read my bible, and worship Him because I thought being a Christian was just that simple. Oh boy was I oh so so very lost!
It wasn’t until I took that risk to live a life with God that I began to realize that was the last risk I would ever have to take. It’s like a fire is lit up inside of me 24/7, I catch myself smiling and laughing at things that back then, wouldn’t of brought joy to me. No matter how tough times get, I hear God talking me through them, I am never alone for He is the bestest friend I could ever ask for. My pride has been swallowed, I don’t hold back questions when I’m dying to ask one, no matter how stupid I may look to others. I am not stupid to God but I am worthless without Him. I can take all of the wrong turns in the world and He will still bring me out to where I’m supposed to be. He has given me the courage to knock down doors in my life that I didn’t even see were there, because my nose was stuck in what everybody else was doing. God has allowed me to see the good side to any situation, or person. He is constantly taking me on journey’s and giving me experiences that NO amount of money could ever buy!
I’ll tell you what a life with Jesus Christ the One Almighty is like, it’s indescribable. It’s breathtaking. It’s true love. It’s love that will make you want to get down on your knees and cry your heart out.
You can search all day and night for a feeling like that but Jesus isn’t a high, He isn’t a toxic relationship, meaning a life with Him IS NEVER going to run out! His love WILL NEVER run out for you! It will never bring you down.
So yes, I will certainly choose to go to church on Sunday instead of that football game. I will dance and sing for Him like nobody’s watching. I will strive to show Him the love that He does for me every single day of my life. Ain’t like I got anything else better to do 🙂
