Faith does not make things easy, it makes them possible.
Addiction: Anything that you are mentally, spiritually or physically consumed by that pulls you away from God.
LIFT is not only for the addict but also for the family or friends. If you have anyone in your life that is experiencing some form of addiction, the LIFT Lifegroup will support and provide guidance through a Bible based curriculum with the support of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Jesus was unafraid and unaffected by the sin and sickness. When he looked into the eyes of a broken soul, He saw His mission before Him. His purposes on earth wasn’t to judge sin or push them away, He knelt down and met people at their point of need. He simply did what He came to do offer them a spiritual remedy that would provide peace and freedom.
God seeks to reconcile and restore, even if only one member participates in recovery. Gaining perspective can inject hope rather than despair. Someone else’s addiction doesn’t have to control you. Instead, you can learn to live in the Faith of God’s method of redemption so you can help the addict and yourself.
The strength for enduring the journey of recovery comes not from anything within ourselves but from the faith that comes from trusting in God’s glorious power, which he freely gives us when we ask.
No one can persevere alone in recovery, neither the addict themselves or the ones affected by the addictions.
Romans 12:12 Bejoy in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
